Randy N. Barton, 48, of Hwy 140 West, Utica, died Tuesday, August 21, 2007 as a result of a motorcycle accident. He was born September 9, 1958 to Earl and Aretta Barton in Barren County. He was a member of First Church of The Nazarene, and was a Boilermaker with Local 40. He enjoyed fishing, motorcycle riding, being with wildlife and animals, was known as Spacecat and was a very good inventor and shade-tree mechanic.
He was preceded in death by his father, Earl Barton in 1963, and his grandparents, Walter Braden in 1964 and Marguerite Braden West in 1978.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Becky; his sons, Chris Taylor of Valparaiso, IN and Brad Barton of Owensboro; a daughter, Wendy Taylor of Owensboro; two grandchildren, Courtney Brucken and Dakota Crowe; his mother, Aretta West of Owensboro; his brother, Chuck West and his wife, Cheri of Owensboro; an uncle, Lowell Braden and his wife, Faye of Owensboro; several brother-in-laws and sisters-in-laws, six nephews, three nieces, two grand-nephews and two grand-nieces.
Services will be 1:00 PM Friday, at Glenn Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Ron Prater and Rev. Doug Grant with burial in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00 A.M. until 8:00 PM Thursday, with Boilermaker services at 7:00 PM at the funeral home. Visitation Friday after 9:00 AM.
