Randall Augustus Pean, 89, of Owensboro, died Friday November 30, 2007 at Beaver Dam Health Care. He was born November 1, 1918 to the late Homer Augustus and Ethel (Taylor) Pean in Beda, Kentucky, retired from the federal government, and was of the Methodist faith. He was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in 102nd Infantry Division, and he was wounded at the Battle of the Bulge, and received a Purple Heart medal. He loved his God and his country, thanking God for watching over him all of these years.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Luciel (Jones) Pean in 1978, and his second wife, Freda Armelda (Southard) Pean in 2004, as well as a son, Randall Junior Pean in 2003.
Survivors include a son; Thomas Hugh Pean in Arizona, and two sisters; Ethel Pean and Geneva Moore, both of Owensboro, and a brother; Rollie Pean of Oregon, seven grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
Graveside services will be conducted in Rosehill Cemetery Monday, December 3, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. There will be no visitation. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Salvation Army.
