Randall Earl ''Tank'' Alexander, Jr., 78, of 1230 Wayside Drive West, Owensboro, died Wednesday, November 17, 2004, at his home. He was born July 18, 1927, to the late Randall and Mabel Conner Alexander, Sr., in Daviess County. He was a retired electrician with Local 1701, a member of Precious Blood Catholic Church, a Kentucky Colonel, and an army veteran of WW II. Randall was active in labor movements, a charter member and officer of United Steel Workers #4959, past president of I.B.E.W. #1701, VFW Post #696, All American Commander in 1994-95, National All American VFW Commander in 1994-95, American Legion Post #9, AM-VETS #75, and a member of American Legion # 40 & 8.
He was preceded in death by his step-mother, Clara May Alexander, two sisters, Beverly Athen and Lou Nell Alexander, one brother, Charles Ferrell Alexander.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Brenda Alexander; three sons, Charles Lewis Alexander and Parvin Tony Alexander, both; of Owensboro, Clarence (Rudy) Alexander of Mooresville, N.C.; one daughter, Michelle Alexander White of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Ryan and Luke Alexander, Eric and Alex White and Brant Walker; one brother, Donnie Joe Alexander of Owensboro; one sister, Shirlene Simmons of Owensboro; several nieces and nephews.
Services will be 2:30 PM Saturday, at Glenn Funeral Home, with visitation from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM Friday, with prayers at 5:00 PM, and after 10:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Association, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro, KY, 42301, or Wendell Foster Campus, PO Box 1668, Owensboro, KY, 42302.
