Ramonda "Pokie" Bamberger, 88, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at her home. She was born June 9, 1922 to the late Scora C. and Hallene Givens Perkins in Webster County. She had owned and operated "The Still", and also worked at Sears, W.T. Grant Co. and Glenmore. She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, and enjoyed playing bridge and card games. She loved being with her family and all of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Ruth Nave, Mary Lou Unruh, and Jonelle Shields.
Survivors include her husband of 69 years, Arch Bamberger, Jr.; her son, Ronald J. Bamberger and his wife, Jeana of Owensboro, her daughter, Ramonda "Dee" Bamberger of Atlanta, GA; three grandchildren, Andrea Grant, Saul Bamberger, and Eve Holder and her husband, Brian; seven great-grandchildren, Nicholas Bamberger, Alexandra Grant, Madison Grant, Isaac Bamberger, Maxwell Holder, Samuel Holder, and Hannah Holder; two sisters, Martha Tynon of Fort Smith, AR, and Jane Akers of Owensboro, one brother, Charles Perkins and his wife, Pat of Franklin, TN.
Services will be 12:00 PM Friday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with burial in Adath Israel Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Thursday, with prayers at 7:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Western Kentucky, 3419 Wathens Crossing, Owensboro, KY 42303, or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 4029 Frederica Street, Owensboro, KY 42301.
