Ralph Milton Dragoo

Ralph Milton Dragoo, 88, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2011 at Owensboro Place. He was born on March 3, 1922 in Estill Co., Ky. to the late Walter Earl and Willie Alexander Dragoo. He was retired as an oilfield worker with Robertson Engineering and a U. S. Army veteran of World War II. He served with the 4th Infantry Division in the War and was there on D-Day. He was wounded during the war and received two Purple Hearts, the Combat Infantry Badge, Good Conduct Medal, Meritorious Achievement Medal, and the Campaign ribbon with two Bronze Service Stars. He met his beloved wife Ozell while he was in the military hospital in Oklahoma recovering from his wounds. He was a member of Bells Run Baptist Church, the Disabled American Veterans, and enjoyed hunting. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Judy Pearl Tabor, two sisters, Ethel Black and Helen Boone, and two brothers, Earl and Joe Dragoo.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Pearl Ozell Dragoo, a brother, Lawrence Dragoo and wife Juanita of Pleasant Ridge, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, January 20 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Bells Run Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 12 Noon Thursday at the funeral home.
