Ralph Herman Ashworth, 95, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on July 10, 2015. Ralph was born in Evansville on April 12, 1920 to the late Martin and Anora Quinn Ashworth. Mr. Ashworth retired as an electronic service tech with Sears after 20 years of employment. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Mr. Ashworth received the Purple Heart for his service with the Army during World War II. Ralph loved to dance, listen to gospel and country music, and loved to read.
Ralph is preceded in death by a son Jeffrey Lynn Ashworth; a brother, Truman Ashworth, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Martha Shadwick Ashworth; a daughter, Cheryl Jean (Ted) King; sons, Ralph Anthony (Jill) Ashworth and Ken Gordon (Vicki) Ashworth, daughter in-law Theresa Ashworth; grandchildren, David Gray, Eric Ashworth, Haleigh Ashworth (Zach) Woodard, and Melanie Ashworth; great grandchildren, Donovan Hulsey, Lauren Gray, Christian Gray , and several nieces and nephews
Expressions of sympathy may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
The funeral Mass will be held 10am on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 3 until 8pm and after 8:30 on Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be said at 7:00 pm on Monday.
