Rachel Wells Thompson

Rachel Wells Thompson, 92, of 5058 Backsquare Drive, Owensboro, died Tuesday, March 13, 2001 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. Born in Spice Knob, Kentucky on December 14, 1908, she was the daughter of the late James Worden Wells and Clara Estes Wells. Her husband, Dorsey Thompson Sr., preceded her in death in 1988.

Mrs. Thompson was a member of Chestnut Grove Baptist Church and lifetime member and past matron of Goal Chapter 104, Eastern Star of Ensor.

Survivors include two sons, Dorsey Thompson Jr. of Lewisport and Worden Thompson of Owensboro; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Frances Evans of Owensboro and Dorothy Marksberry of Spice Knob.

Funeral services are at 10:00 a.m. Friday at Glenn Funeral Home, officiated by Reverend James Wedding and Reverend Tim Roberts. Burial will be in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
