Rachel Jean Hardy

Rachel Jean Hardy, of Owensboro, passed away peacefully Wednesday, July 1, 2026, under the care of Hospice and Palliative Care of Western Kentucky. She was born October 9, 1980, in Owensboro, to Scott and Tina Hardesty Hardy. Rachel was a graduate of Owensboro High School. She grew up as the oldest of 4 children, keeping her three younger brothers in line. Despite her physical limitations, Rachel was very active. She enjoyed being in public, especially shopping, where she always ran into people she knew. She had an eye for fashion, picking out all of the up-and-coming fashions. Rachel thoroughly enjoyed Architectural Design and Florida Design magazines along with admiring herself in her mirrors.

Rachel was preceded in death by her grandparents; Ira and Ruth Ann Hardy, and Denny and Margaret Hardesty.

Along with her parents, she is survived by her three brothers; Gabe (Rachel) Hardy, Luke (Andrea) Hardy, and David (Lauren) Hardy; nephews, Vincent, Benjamin, James, and Paul Hardy; and niece, Nora Hardy.

The funeral service for Rachel will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Parish Catholic Church, with Father Larry McBride officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.at Immaculate Parish with the rosary to follow. Burial to follow in St. Alphonsus cemetery.
