Phyllis L. Loomis

Phyllis Loomis, 56, peacefully slipped away from her earthly body on the afternoon of September 19, 2017 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Elizabethtown, KY to Lois and Earl McCamish, Phyllis was raised in Louisville, KY and spent her early adult life there. She then married Gary Loomis and moved to Concord, CA where she brought joy, easy laughter, and her endless supply of Mountain Dew wherever she went. Phyllis loved her work as a tax accountant, and continued that throughout her life. She also loved reading, and shared her love of books with her friends and family. Gary was taken from her too soon, and after he passed away she moved back to Kentucky to live, love, and assist her family.

Phyllis is survived by her mother Lois Spencer, her sisters Paula Hammers and Pamela Totten, her stepdaughter Terri Loomis-Huston, and grandbabies Brett, Alexa, and Makayla. Also surviving are her niece and nephews Ashley Hammers, Brad Hammers, and Craig Totten.

The family warmly invites all friends and family to share an experience of reminiscence to honor Phyllis to her memorial service at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, October 7, 2017 at Gracepoint Baptist Church, 2339 W Parrish Ave, Owensboro, KY 42301.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Gracepoint Baptist Church in lieu of flowers.
