Phyllis Elaine Harley, 40, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2008 at her home. Born in Winston-Salem, NC on July 14, 1967, she was a homemaker; humane society volunteer; graduate of a 2-year veterinary program at Central Carolina Community College in North Carolina; and friend to many. Mrs. Harley sowed sunshine everywhere she went , a very caring person who enjoyed helping others by giving rides, babysitting, or holding a hand in need. She especially loved caring for animals and adopted many to nurse back to health. She was preceded in death by her father, William Sanders.
She is survived by her husband of 19 years, John Harley; a son, John (JJ) Harley, Jr.; her mother, Zona Wright Sanders, of Winston-Salem; a sister, Karen A. Cauthen of Winston-Salem; and several nieces and nephews in Owensboro and North Carolina.
Services are private. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
