Phillip W. Demarest, 91, of Owensboro, passed away Wednesday, February 17, 2016 at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation. He was born in Daviess County, Kentucky to the late Charles F. and Mary J. Demarest.
Mr. Demarest served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was a prisoner of war in Germany for sixteen months.
He was a charter member of I.B.E.W. Local 1701 and retired as an electrician from Dynalectric Corporation. Mr. Demarest was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lora E. Demarest in 2003 and brothers, Charles, James, Thomas and Paul Demarest.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine Barrett Demarest; a son, James W. Demarest and his wife, Connie of Owensboro; grandchildren, Jeremy Demarest and his wife, Kimberley of Waterford, MI and Bradley Demarest and his wife, Lisa of Murray, KY; and great grandchildren, Caroline and Henry Demarest of Murray, KY.
Services will be private. Entombment will be at Resurrection Catholic Cemetery.
