Phillip James Cason, 50, of Philpot passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He is now safe in the arms of Jesus. Phillip trusted Christ as his Savior when he was 8 years old and loved and served the Lord. The Mobile, Alabama native was born January 20, 1976, to Byron Phillip James Cason and Linda Gayle Nicks Cason. He grew up in Seminole, Florida then graduated from Northside Christian School in St. Petersburg where he participated in football, track, and chorus. Phillip developed lifelong friendships from all these experiences. He was active in youth ministries growing up at First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks in Largo, FL.
Phillip continued to play football his freshman year at Mars Hill College in Mars Hill, NC. He graduated from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA with a degree in business. His career after college was in sales for over 20 years in Virginia Beach, VA.
Phillip was preceded in death by his grandparents, Lenny and Pat Cason of Fruitland Park, FL and Elmer and Eva Lee Nicks of Pompano Beach, FL.
Those left to cherish his memory include his parents, Byron and Linda Cason of Philpot; sister, Cathleen Purmort (Matt) of McKinney, TX; aunt, Elizabeth Nicks and uncle, Glenn Nicks of Florida; cousins, Jacob and Jordan Williams; nieces Bianca and Ning-Cing Purmort.
The funeral service for Phillip Cason will be Noon Saturday, June 27 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be Friday from 4:00 until 7:00 pm and Saturday from 11:00 am until the time of the service. Burial to follow in Yellow Creek Cemetery.
