Peggy Faye Hadden Willis

Peggy Faye Hadden Willis, 75, of Owensboro, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2010 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Peggy was born in Elkton, KY on May 15, 1934, to the late Roy and Annie May Hadden. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord through teaching at Oakland Christian School in Auburn Hills, MI. from 1969-1993. After retiring and moving to Florida, Peggy continued to serve others by ministering and providing hospitality to bereaving families as a member at Central Baptist Church is Ocala FL for more than 10 years.

The Bible states that a Godly mother's children will a rise up and call her blessed and that a teacher should train and nurture a child to develop skills and discover his/her strengths; Peggy exemplified these characteristics. As a mother and teacher Peggy provided an environment of acceptance, affection, and unconditional love. She accepted the Lord at the age of 17 and was a lifelong Baptist and an active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church in Owensboro. She will always be remembered as being a strong Christian motherly influence to her children, grandchildren, great grandchild, and to those she taught throughout the years.

Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Suzie and Larry Horner of Owensboro; a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Mary Beth Willis, of four grandchildren, Andy Horner, Nate Horner, Clay Willis, and Jenny Beth Willis and one great granddaughter, Maggie Horner. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Jane Hadden, Dene Wells, and by her husband William "Bill" Willis.

Services are Monday 10:00 AM February 1, 2010 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Tim Campbell officiating followed by burial at Owensboro Memorial Gardens next to her husband Bill. Visitation will be Sunday from 1-4 P.M. and on Monday after 9 AM at the funeral home.
