Peggy Jean Cremer, 86, of Utica passed away on November 5, 2017 at Hermitage Care and Rehab. She was born in Oak Grove, Kentucky to the late Terry Brame and Essie Kirk Brame. Jean graduated from Pembroke High School and attended Murray State University where she received her bachelor's degree in elementary education. She also met and married her college sweet heart, Ed Cremer in 1953. She lost him in 1976 when he was killed in a plane crash. Her teaching career spanned 36 years as she taught in Peoria, Illinois, Sedalia, Kentucky, Louisville, and Sorgho, before retiring from Masonville Elementary School. Jean loved shopping, reading, UK and Murray State basketball and writing poetry. She was a devoted member of Masonville Baptist Church for over 50 years and served there in many different ways.
Mrs. Cremer is preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Ed Cremer; brothers, James and Samuel Brame; sister, Buelah Braboy; nephews, Michael Brame and Terry Braboy; and sister-in-law Claire Brame.
She is survived by her daughter, Terri Alvey and husband, Dan of Calhoun; son, Kirk Cremer and wife Shelly of Louisville; ten grandchildren: Rebekah West, John Alvey (Hillary), Rachael Zerby (Michael), Ben Alvey, Beau Alvey, Ashley Cremer, Sarah Cremer, William Cremer, Destiny Coiles, and Ian Whitehair; two great grandchildren, Madeline West and Bridgette Evans; nieces, Linda White, Lugene Sadler, Karen Stewart, and Jeannie Stokes; nephew, Jacky Brame.
Services will be 11 am Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Masonville Baptist Church with Brother Kimbrough Simmons officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4 until 8pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and Thursday from 9 to 11 am at the church. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
