Pauline W. Tanner

Pauline W. Tanner, 93, of Owensboro, passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born on April 8, 1918 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Lewis E. and Josephine Blair Wood. She was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and was retired from the Daviess Co. Board of Education as lunchroom manager at Burns Elementary School. Pauline enjoyed cooking for her family, flower gardening and making flower arrangements and attending the gospel singings at the Riverpark Center. She also never forgot her families birthdays and loved making and decorating their birthday cakes. Most of all, she loved her time spent with all her grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Surviving are her husband of 31 years, Allen Tanner, two sons, Jim (Linda) Carrico of Owensboro and Alen (Holly Haines) Carrico of Louisville, three stepdaughters, Connie (Tommy) Lee, Celia (James) Terrell, and Vickie Young, all of Owensboro, six grandchildren, five step grandchildren, six great grandchildren, two step great grandchildren, and a sister, Marie Abel of Owensboro.

Services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, June 4, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Friday and after 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the funeral home.
