Pauline M. Bowersox

Pauline M. Bowersox, 91, of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Health System. A daughter of the late John Bantle and Helen Schwab Bantle, Mrs. Bowersox was born January 20, 1919 in Buffalo, NY where she lived through the Great Depression and World War II, married, and raised her family. As a youngster, much of her time was spent with her Aunt Violet on the shores of Lake Erie in Athol Springs, NY. Her career included working for the Federal Reserve Bank in Buffalo and the Library System of Erie County, from which she retired in 1985 after 23 years service. She moved to Owensboro in 1990 with her late husband, Howard Sanford Bowersox, who preceded her in death in 1992. A member of Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, she was a volunteer at Owensboro Medical Health System and was an avid reader. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Raymond Bantle.

Survivors include her sons, Dave Bowersox and his wife Lou Ann of Owensboro and Howard S. Bowersox and his wife Janet of Valparaiso, IN; 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren,; and her sisters, Ruthie Mussell and Helen "Jimmie" Muschaweck, both of Buffalo.

Services are 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 27 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will be from 12:00 noon until time of service. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the Daviess County Public Library.
