Paula Marie Bittel

Paula Marie Bittel, 60 of Owensboro, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the University of Louisville Hospital. She was born in Daviess Co. on March 24, 1953 to the late Joseph R., Sr. and Virginia Sisk Bittel. Miss Bittel graduated from Owensboro Catholic High School in 1971 and was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church. She was employed at the Carmel Home and enjoyed helping them with their many fundraisers. She also loved flowers and gardening. She was preceded in death by a brother, Howell Bittel on February 4, 1997.

Survivors include a sister, Sharon (Fred) Coomes of Philpot, her twin brother, Father Patrick M. Bittel of Rome and another brother Joseph R. (Jamie) Bittel of Utica, six nieces, including Shannon Coomes, Sarah Geoghagen, Stephanie and Suzanne Coomes, Lauren Payne, and Lynnsie Fulkerson, four nephews including Fred Coomes, Tim Coomes, Andy Coomes, and David Coomes, seven great nieces and seven great nephews.

Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, September 19 at Immaculate Catholic Church officiated by Father Patrick Bittel. Burial will follow in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with prayers at 7:00 P.M. Wednesday evening.
