Paul C. Wassmer

Paul C. Wassmer, 66, of Owensboro, passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2007, at the Owensboro Medical Health System after a battle with cancer. He was born to the late Andy & Bertha Pfeiffer Wassmer on March 26, 1941 in Cynthiana, In. Paul had worked for Amoco Oil Co. for 20 years in Evansville, In.and had served in the National Guard. He was a member of St. Wendel Catholic Church in St. Wendel. He was a friend to all and was active in the A.A. program in Owensboro where he was a mentor and leader. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and watching Nascar. He was also preceded in death by a brother Andrew Wassmer in 2004 and a sister, Mary Roberts in 2006.

Surviving are two sons, Jody Wassmer and wife Pam of Owensboro and Jeff Wassmer and wife Sarah of Ft. Branch, In., a daughter, Jonelle Dant and husband Emory of Lakeland Fla., five grandchildren, Reid Wassmer, Griffin Wassmer, Sam Wassmer, and Skye and Piper Dant, and the childrens mother, Diane Wassmer of Haubstadt, In. Also surviving are his brothers, Mark Wassmer of Ft. Branch, Henry Wassmer of Cynthiana, Joe Wassmer of Mt Vernon, a sister, Henrietta Hughes of Haubstadt, brother-in-law, Don Roberts of Ft. Branch, sister-in-law, Betty Wassmer of Evansville, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, August 8 at the St. Wendel Catholic Church in St. Wendel, In. with burial following in St. Wendel Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday at the Glenn Funeral Home in Owensboro, Ky. and after 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at St. Wendel Catholic Church.
