Paul E. Stewart, 56, passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at his home in Owensboro. He was born on May 16, 1956 in Ohio County to the late Homer and Geneva Farmer Stewart.
He is also preceded in death by his brother, Marvin Stewart.
Paul provided for his family by working as a coal miner for Peabody Coal Co. for over twenty years, he was a member of UMW ( United Mine Workers) for all of his career. Paul was an avid Harley Davidson enthusiast, and for a long period owned and rode a Harley. He enjoyed gardening and camping in his earlier years. He especially enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Caitlyn, who was a continual source of joy and pride for him.
Surviving are his daughter, Caitlyn Stewart of Utica; his former wife and close friend, Cathy Collings Stewart; his two brothers, Leo Stewart (Kitty) of Birmingham, Alabama and Glendon Stewart ( Shelia) of Owensboro; his two sisters, Maureta Allen ( Fred) and Ann Snodgrass ( Phil) both of Beaver Dam. He also leaves behind Edwin Collings who was a father to Paul from an early age; along with many members of the Collings family who embraced him as family.
Visitation will be held from 3 until 6p.m. on Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Caitlyn Stewart Education fund or Al- Anon.
