Paul H. Morris, 86, of Owensboro passed away Friday, February 25, 2005 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born August 3, 1918 at Patesville in Hancock County, Mr. Morris was the son of the late L.E. (Lori) Morris and Rena Pulliam Morris. He was preceded in death by three sisters, Vista Morris, Bernice Morris, and Gladys Ambrose and a brother Arthur Morris. He was the owner/operator of Morris Enterprises Inc, a strip mine that operated outside Knottsville and in Ohio County in the 1960s and 70s. A member of the Settle Memorial United Methodist Church, Mr. Morris was a Major in the Air Force serving in World War II as a pilot for twin engine bombardment aircraft in the air campaign against Germany.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Dorothy Morris whom he married in England during the war; a son, John Morris of Owensboro; and a daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Alan Gorrell of Bristol, TN; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 12:30 P.M. Sunday, February 27, 2005 at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-5 P.M. on Saturday and after 12 Noon on Sunday.
