Paul Joseph Knott, 90, of Sorgho, passed away Friday, October 26, 2018 under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. He was born in Knottsville to the late Michael Romulus and Mary Rosalie Abell Knott.
Mr. Knott was a graduate of Mt. St. Joseph Academy and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a lifelong farmer and a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Mr. Knott was also a member of Knights of Columbus Council # 6101, an avid reader and enjoyed traveling to visit his children in all four time zones.
He was preceded in death by siblings, Michael Knott, Charles Knott, Lucille Hayden, Dorothy Calhoun, Helen Woodward, Jane Conrad and Carolyn Knott; and a granddaughter, Karli Jo Kaska.
Mr. Knott is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Knott; children, Paul Joseph "Joe" Knott (Marianne) of Owensboro, Charles Ignatius Knott (Marjorie Kay) of Seattle, WA, Karen Gildehaus (John) of Louisville, Bruce Knott (Joanne) of Seattle, WA, Randy Knott (Nancy) of El Paso, TX, Daniel Knott (Jill) of Seattle, WA, Keith Knott (Julie Taylor) of Owensboro and Diana Gamber (Barry) of Louisville; twenty grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Ruth Cecil of Owensboro and Imogene Blakeley (Joe) of Louisville; a brother, J.C. Knott (Barbara) of Owensboro; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The funeral Mass will be 11:00 AM, Saturday November 3 at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. Visitation will be Friday from 3 until 8 PM, with prayers at 7 PM, and Saturday after 9:30 AM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be at Mater Dolorosa Catholic Cemetery.
