Paul W. Fullenwider, 89, of Maceo passed away Saturday, December 12, 2015. He was born May 28, 1926 in Hancock County, the youngest son of the late H.J. (Buddy) and Kate Marsch Fullenwider. He was preceded in death by brothers, H.M., Bill, Miller, Ford and a sister Dorothy Johnson.

In 1944, Paul enlisted with the 2nd Marine Corp during World War II, serving in Saipan in the South Pacific, the battle of Okinawa, where he survived several Japanese Kamikaze attacks while on board transport ships, completing his tour in Japan after the war. Paul retired from Fullenwider Fertilizer and Hardware Co in 1976 and farmed with his son until the time of his death. He wore many hats during his life time being proud of his accomplishments. Paul was one of the founders of the East Daviess County Water District and instrumental in forming other county water districts. He served on the East Daviess County Water board for 40 years as Vice-President, Yelvington Fire Dept. Board, 50 yr. member of T.P.A, South Central Bank Board (Lewisport), He also served 15 years on the Daviess County Farm Service Agency, and 2 years on The Kentucky State Farm Service Agency in addition to working with the Planters Tobacco Warehouse.

Paul is survived by his wife of 66 years, Ann Case Fullenwider; two sons, Kyle Rote Fullenwider of Vineland NJ and Paul Scott (Barbara) Fullenwider of Maceo; a daughter Debra Lou Fullenwider also of Maceo. Five grandchildren, Mark and Matthew Bailey, Phoenix Perier, Kyla and Jacob Fulllenwider;
Five great grandchildren, Luke, Aaron, and Mallory Bailey, Sophia and Stella Perier.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Reverend Scott Ford will officiate. Visitation will be 2:00 -7:00 PM Monday and after 10:00 Tuesday until time of service. Interment will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
