Paul B. Dukes, 91, of Owensboro, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2024 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born January 9, 1933 at Semiway in McLean County to the late Luther and Euphrates Evitts Dukes. Paul had been the owner and operator of the former Dukes Auto Salvage, also had worked at Glenmore Distillaries and Ragu, and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. He was always a hard worker and never met a stranger. He enjoyed raising a garden, working on cars, and at one time, use to race stock cars. He especially loved spending time with his family, his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Paul was also preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Dorothy McClure Dukes on November 19, 2015; a daughter, Kimberly Dukes in 1963; and siblings, Reatha McGuyer, Don Dukes, and Margie Dukes.
Surviving are his wife of eight years, Mona Fox Dukes; children, Sheila Davis (Glen), Vickie Ellis (Roger), Kristie Coomes (Jeremy), and Ronnie Dukes (Lourdes Goldberg), all of Owensboro; 11 grandchildren, Cindy Charles (David) of Georgetown, Kelly Wagner (Jason) and Matt Davis (Selisa), all of Owensboro, Brad Ellis (Jamie) and Jonathan Ellis (Janine), all of Lexington, Chris Dukes (Krystle), Jessica Dukes, Blake Roberts (Alexa), and Kobe Coomes, all of Owensboro, Hannah Adame (Ivan) and Austin Coomes, all of Lexington; 22 great grandchildren; step children,Tammy Hall (Bobby) of Calhoun and Tommy Basham II of Knottsville; step grandchildren, Lauren Dennison and Trenton Basham, both of Owensboro, and Taylor Kotarek (Jake) of Calhoun; and six step great grandchildren; and two sisters, Renee Cissna of Madisonville and Wanda Hethcock of Florida.
Funeral services will be Noon, Tuesday, March 26, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Greenbriar Baptist Church Cemetery in Utica. Visitation will be from 4 PM until 7 PM Monday and from 10 AM until the time of the service Tuesday at the funeral home.
