Paul Clements Sr., 80, of Owensboro, went to be with the Lord on March 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Owensboro on April 12, 1945, to the late Thomas and Mary Shelton Clements.
He was one of nine children and carried that strong sense of family with him throughout his life. Paul was the owner and operator of Paul Clements Aluminum Siding for 45 years before retiring in 2015. He took great pride in his work and built his business on hard work, honesty, and doing things the right way.
Paul was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He taught his children to be proud of who they are and proud of their name. He was a man of strong principles and high expectations, but everything he did came from love. He was always involved in his children’s lives and never missed a game or event, whether it was golf, volleyball, or softball. He was the same way with his grandchildren, always showing up and supporting them.
He loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed grilling out, cooking big breakfasts, and his Christmas brunch was something everyone looked forward to each year. Some of his favorite moments were simply sitting on the porch in the sun, enjoying the day, and being with the people he loved most.
Faith was at the center of Paul’s life. He loved reading his Bible and living by God’s Word. His life truly changed when he found Jesus and was saved, and that decision changed the direction of his life and had a lasting impact on his family for years to come. He believed deeply in helping others by mentoring those in need, providing transportation, supporting the jail ministry, and inspiring his son's missionary work. He often remembered the words that impacted him most: “When you change your life, you can change a generation,” and he lived that out every day.
In his free time, Paul enjoyed playing golf, spades at Hillcrest, pool, and bumper pool. He was also a big fan of NASCAR and Kentucky basketball.
Paul will be remembered for his strong faith, his big heart, and his love for his family. The example he set and the values he passed down will live on through his family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Leroy, Leon, J.D., and Mike Clements, and his sister, Barbara Bowles.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 60 years, Wanda Roberts Clements; children, Carey Stein (Chris), Kim Alexander (Mike), Paul Clements Jr. (Lori), Candy Pankey (Bob), and Manda Roberts (Andy); grandchildren, Katie, Caleb, Morgan, Brandon, Jonathan, Olivia, Lauren, Ethan, Ben, Blane, Cali, Mia, Ayla, and Hawk; great-grandchildren, Mya, Jayce, and Jansen; and sisters, Jeanie Allen, Linda Ray, and Cindy Payne (Tommy).
The funeral service for Paul Clements will be at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday and from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Living Hope Community Church.
