Paul Joseph Cecil, 74 of Owensboro, died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Paul was born in Daviess County to the late Charles L. and Georgia Ann (Mattingly) Cecil. Paul was a farmer, and a warehouse manager for Brown-Kaiser Distributors. He had also delivered for Gipe Automotive. He was a faithful member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church for 48 years and Blessed Mother Catholic Church for the last 4 years. He was an avid reader, loved playing Scrabble, cards, watching sports, and spending time with his family. He was preceded in death by four siblings, Bernard Cecil, Sr. George Ann Cecil, Bobby Cecil and Marie (Robert) Simmons.
Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Beverly Thomas Cecil, children, Donna (Brian) Feldpausch of Owensboro, Stephen Cecil of Chicago, IL, Paula (B.J.) Booth and Kevin (Lee Ann) Cecil, both of Owensboro, Amy (Tree) Maddux of Portland, TN, and Leah Cecil of Owensboro, 16 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, siblings, Hugh (Betty) Cecil and Mildred (J.C.) Higdon of Owensboro, Leon (Missi) Cecil of Lutz, FL, and Frankie (Rita) Cecil of Owensboro, and a sister-in-law, Mary Ruth Cecil of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday March 11, 2013, at Blessed Mother Catholic Church with Rev. John Meredith officiating. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, from 3 to 8 p.m.with prayers at 7 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
