Patsy Newton Tanner, 73, of 1721 Mohawk Drive, Owensboro, died Wednesday, November 21, 2007, at her home. She was born April 25, 1924 to the late Virgil and Caroline Stevens Newton in Hancock County. She was a homemaker and a member of Immaculate Catholic Church. She was a member of the Red Hat Club, the Owensboro Symphony Auxiliary, the Western Kentucky Botanical Gardens Club and a supporter of the River Park Center. Her true joy in life came from the time she spent with her children, grandchildren and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Tanner in 2001 and a daughter, Michelle Tanner in 1957.
Survivors include her son, Mike Tanner and his wife, Lynn of Lexington, her daughter, Marsha Strein and her husband, Rick of Lexington; four grandchildren, Tanner Strein, Kyndal Tanner, Clay Tanner and Carly Strein; a brother, Tony Newton of Alexandria, VA, a sister, Shirley Wilson of Ft. Wayne, IN.
Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, at Immaculate Catholic Church with burial in Mater Dolorosa Cemetery. Visitation will be 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Friday with prayers at 6:00 PM at Glenn Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care, 723 Harvard Drive, Owensboro.
