Patsy Gaddis Bidwell, 84, of Owensboro, died March 4, 2024, while under the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. She was born in Muhlenberg County on November 27, 1939, to the late Luther and Ida Vanell Carr. She spent her early childhood in Martwick, Kentucky, before moving to Owensboro, where she remained for the rest of her life.
Patsy was an accountant for over 60 years and owned and operated the American Tax Service until she retired in 2022. She served hundreds of clients at her business throughout the years and regarded them all as an extension of her family.
Patsy was an active member of the Thruston community for years, serving in the leadership of the Thruston Elementary PTA, and was always proud to have served on the planning committee for what is now known as Yellow Creek Park. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Macedonia Baptist Church.
She was predeceased in death by her husband, Ronald (Ron) L. Bidwell, and Brother-In-Law, Richard "Dickie" Conkright.
Three children survive her. Robbie (Susan) Gaddis of Yelvington, Scott (Connie) Gaddis of Owensboro, and Stacy (Frankie Bartlett) Worthington of Pleasant Ridge. Also surviving are her sister, Peggy Conkright, and brother and sister-in-law, Gary (Shirlyn) Carr. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Patsy Gaddis Bidwell will be at 10 am Friday, March 8, 2024, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 3 pm until 7 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024, and after 9 am at the funeral home on Friday. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery.
