Patricia Ballard Newcomb

Patricia Ballard Newcomb, 74, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, July 19 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mrs. Newcomb was born August 8, 1942 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late James and Ruby Christina Ballard. Pat was a faithful member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church where she loved attending services and her church family. Pat thoroughly enjoyed her family and friends and family gatherings. She was an avid gardener and canner. Her best friends for 57 years were Jackie and Delilia Sparks who, through thick and thin, were like a brother and sister.

Mrs. Newcomb also was preceded in death by her sister, Paula Jo Harder; in-laws, J.B. and Edna Newcomb; sons-in-law Lotus Stogner and Mike Evans.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 57 years, Larry J. Newcomb; daughters, Pamila Stogner and Patty Jo Evans both of Owensboro; five grandchildren, Debbie Stogner Burdon and Jeremiah, Eric Stogner and Renee, Felicia Cumbee and Mike, Isaac Evans, and Ricky Evans; great grandchildren, Elijah Burdon, Ayden Evans, Katie Cumbee, and Evyn Cumbee; brother, Frank Ballard and Connie; sister, Robin Dearing; numerous nieces and nephews.

The service will be noon Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Dr. James Wedding and Reverend Franklin Skaggs officiating. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Friday from 1:00 to 8:00 PM and Saturday after 10:00 AM.
