Patricia Ann Henning Caler, 67, 0f Hayden Bridge Road, Owensboro, died Thursday, June 24, 2010 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Mrs. Caler was a LPN who retired from Owensboro-Daviess County Hospital after more than 25 years. She was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church. She enjoyed home life during her retirement years and loved to knit and crochet. She made the most excellent fudge and divinity and the best chicken and dumplings. She also enjoyed an occasional trip to Florida. In addition to her late parents, Bernard Lee and Georgia Mae (Cooper) Henning, she was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Louis R. Caler in December of 2008.
Surviving are her sons, Tim (Linda) Schartung of Mascoutah, IL., and Kevin (Jackie) Schartung of St. Joseph, grandchildren, Tonya Elizabeth , Tristan Paul, Alexis Jenna, and Tyler Alphonsus Schartung, and sisters, Mary (Jimmie) Keller of Stanley, Dorothy (Jim) Schartung of Owensboro, Jeanie (Johnie) Lindauer of Burke City, KY., and Debby (Mark) Mulligan of Owensboro, and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 26, 2010, at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Buckner officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary Magdalene Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Kentucky Organ Donors Association.
