Owen Michael Hayden, 87, of 824 Boliver Street, Owensboro, passed from this earth and rejoined his beloved wife, Beverly Juliane Hayden in heaven on October 28, 2009. He was born in Daviess County to the late J. Bernard and Lucy (Scherm) Hayden. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII as an engineer and landed in France on D-Day. He retired from Hughes Aircraft. He was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church and VFW. Two sons, Michael and Patrick Hayden also preceded him in death.
Surviving is a daughter; Marilyn Ward of St. Croix, Indiana, a grandson; Sean (Jody) Dysinger of Owensboro, and granddaughter; Taryn (Jason) Perry of San Diego, California, as well as several other grand children, great-grandchildren and five loving nieces.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday, October 31, 2009 at 12:05 p.m. at St. Stephen Cathedral with Fr. John Vaughan officiating. Following the mass a memorial will be held at the V.F.W. Post in Owensboro with military honors. There is no visitation planned and interment will be private. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to St. Stephen Cathedral.
