Ovva Lee Morris, 81, of Owensboro passed away on July 23, 2012 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born in Butler County, Kentucky to the late John Thomas and Anna Pearl Rountree.
Ovva retired after 40 years of full time employment. Through the years she had worked at Wendell Foster Center, managed Daniel's Motel and was employed at General Electric for twenty three years.
Years ago Ovva became a member of the Church of Christ in Select, Kentucky and continued in that faith. She loved family, friends, nature, crossword puzzles and dancing.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Donna Gail Grogan; a sister, Floy Childress and brothers, Warren Thomas "Tommy" Rountree and Bert Rountree.
Ovva is survived by her daughters, Cherlyn Ann Holt (Terry) of Lake Geneva, WI, Sondra Carol Carr (Dennis) of East Dundee, IL, Kathy Lee Morris of Owensboro, Sherry Cerise Jarboe (Don) of Owensboro and Lisa Morris of Owensboro; eleven grandchildren; twenty two great grandchildren; four great great grandchildren; a sister, Faye White of West Monroe, Louisiana; many nieces and nephews and her special dog, Bradley.
Friends and family are welcome to gather at Mrs. Morris's residence for a time of remembrance from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, July 25.
