Othello Ben Jones II, 55, of Owensboro passed away Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at St. Anthony Hospice in Henderson. Born in Warren County, Kentucky, Mr. Jones served on the Bowling Green Fire Department prior to entering the manufactured housing business. For many years he owned and operated One Stop Manufactured Homes in Owensboro and was involved in sales until the time of his retirement. He had served on the board of directors of the Kentucky Manufactured Housing Institute specifically in the areas of planning and zoning. He was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and was a Kentucky Colonel. He was preceded in death by his father, Othello Jones, I.
Mr. Jones is survived by his wife Rebecca Bennett Jones; his daughter, Jennifer Lynn Jones of Louisville; his mother Mary C. Medcalf of Owensboro; his sister, Judy Marie (Joe) Matthews of Louisville; his nieces and nephews Sharon Matthews, Sherri Cooper, Jenny Lou Hudson, Audra Walker, Pierce Walker, Jessica Williams; his great nephews, Matthew Cooper, Kyle Cooper, and J.D. Elder.
The funeral service for Mr. Jones, officiated by Rev. Jeff Hendricks, will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m. Friday and from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery in Henderson.
