Orville J. Frizzell

Orville J. "Bob" Frizzell, 75, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday October 5, 2009 at the Professional Care Health and Rehabilitation Center in Hartford. He was born in Ohio Co. on August 3, 1934 to the late John and Iva Brown Frizzell. He received his Bachelor of Science degree from Kentucky Wesleyan College and his Masters and Rank 1 from Western Ky. University. He was a gifted educator culminating in obtaining the position of Principal of Fordsville High School until his retirement in 1991. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army having served in the Military Police during his 18 months he was stationed in Germany. He was a member of Masonville Baptist Church, the Disabled American Veterans, and the Hartford Masonic Lodge #675. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, raising a garden, and collecting Case knives and guns. He loved basketball and especially watching his grandson, Hayden play at Daviess Co. High School.

Surviving are his loving wife of 54 years, Mary Lou Frizzell, three daughters, Cindy Thompson and husband Billy of Hartford, Judy Thompson and husband Gene of Maceo, and Shannon Simon and husband Ronnie of Owensboro, six grandchildren, Beth Bratcher, Cory Thompson, Kirby Thompson, Hayden Simon, Jake Simon, and Sami Simon, a great grandson, Conner Bratcher, a brother, Randall Frizzell of Lake Station, IN and several nieces and nephews including David Frizzell who was like a son to him.

Services will be 12 Noon Wednesday, October 7, in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens where military honors will be provided by the honor guard of the V.F.W. Post #696. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Tuesday and after 10:00 A.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
