Ora Ethel Bartley Brown, 86 of Cromwell, passed away on Thursday, August 22, 2013 at her daughter's home. Through the years, Ethel worked at various restaurants and nursing homes, and was active in the Salvation Army. She loved animals, spending time with her family, going to church, listening to gospel music, and was an avid Elvis Presley fan. Ethel was born in Calhoun to the late Drury Edward and Lora Lee (Kennedy) Bartley. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Denville, Edward and T.C. Bartley, two sisters, Orene Wiekel and Jane Brown, her husband, Leon B. Brown and a daughter, Patricia C. Wiggins.
Survivors include 10 children and their spouses, Betty Roof, Michael (Chrissy) Williams, Leonard (Eunice) Brown, Gloria (EJ) Jernigan, Anna (Dennis) Hardesty, Susie Stewart, Forrest (Doris) Taylor, Emmett (Brittany) Brown, Nevada (Kathy) Brown, David, (Amanda) Brown. "Mamma" Brown is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m. Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
