Opaline Nole Parsons, 98, of Owensboro passed away Monday, November 30, 2009 at her residence. Born March 6, 1911 in Butler County, she was the daughter of the late Hubert and Sarah Webster Nole; was a member of Greenville Presbyterian Church; was retired from the United States Postal Service. Mrs. Parsons was the assistant postmaster at Beechmont for 17 years. She enjoyed needlework, gardening, and was a master scrabble player. Mrs. Parsons was preceded in death by her husband, George B. Parsons in 1992 and a grandson, Kelvin Parsons.
Surviving is her son, John (Pam) Parsons of Penrod, KY; daughters, Betty (Norris) Harris of Utica, Dora Glenn of Owensboro, and Rosalee (Tom) Fleming of North Richland Hills, TX; nine grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Services are 2 p.m. Friday, December 4, 2009 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Tim Davis officiating followed by burial in Evergreen Cemetery in Greenville. Visitation will be from
10 a.m. to 2 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
