Onie E. Duke

Onie E. Duke, 84, of 4502 Remington Way, died Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in Butler County, KY, a daughter of the late Joseph and Donie Dockery Phelps, she retired from the American Tobacco Company. Preceding her in death were her husband, Vervie Duke in 2004, a son, Donald Duke and a daughter, Linda Duke, a grand son, Daniel Duke, her sister, Lois Woods, and her brothers, Alfred Phelps, Dutch Phelps, and Lancy Phelps.

Survivors include her son, Emmett Duke and his wife Paula of Owensboro; her grandson, Steven Duke of Owensboro, her great granddaughters, Chelsey Duke and Brittney Duke, both of Owensboro; her sisters, Lillie Mason and Esther Duke of Louisville, Bridget Berryman of Carrolton; and her brothers, Chandler Phelps of Louisville, and Alton Phelps of Bowling Green.

Services are at 11:30 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Chapel at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and from 9:00 until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
