Olive Elizabeth Albritton Martin, 95, of Philpot, passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 at her home. Born April 5, 1913, Mrs. Martin was the daughter of the late Thomas and Myrtle Miller Albritton; a homemaker; and member of Zion United Church of Christ Church in Henderson. She was a member of the National Council of Senior Citizens and was very active in the Disabled American Veterans Auxillary and the Owensboro Area Diabetes Association. Mrs. Martin was preceded in death by her husband, John Charles Martin in 1992; brothers, Errett Albritton, Philip Albritton, and Dard Albritton; and a sister, Enid Mayers.
She is survived by daughters, Charlot Martin and her life partner Linda Craig and Enid (and Michael) Roach of Owensboro and Joan ( and James) Dunn of Swainesboro, GA; grandchildren, Donna Peach, Byron Peach, Adam Roach, Andrea Roach, Elizabeth O'Bryan, John Dunn, Lauren Dunn, Angela Horton, Kayte Spurlin, Heather McBride, and Sara Smith; and great-grandchildren, Marilyn Peach, Holly Ann Tatum, Jacob O'Bryan , Isaac Roach, Mathew Spurlin, Andrew Spurlin, Dakoda Spurlin, Benjamin Pleasant, Kristin Pleasant, Shelby Lynn Horton, Sydney Horton, Gracie Starks, Rayden Hill adn Skylar Hill.
Services are 4 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home with Rev. Dr. Claudia A. Ramisch and Rev. Jeremy Hatfield officiating. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Saturday and after 1 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home.
