Odie B. Warren, 94, of Owensboro, died March 15, 2014 at Hermitage Care & Rehab Center in Owensboro. He was born February 16, 1920 in Calhoun to the late Leslie and Vallie Kennedy Warren. Also preceding him in death was an infant brother, Lee Wilton Warren and sisters, Lillian King and Belle Tucker. Odie was a proud Marine corporal having served during WWII. Odie spent his career in the food & beverage service in Owensboro. He worked as a manager of Gabe's Restaurant for 48 years until its closure in 1985. Odie also worked as a purchasing agent for the Executive Inn Rivermont and finished up his professional career at red Lobster. He retired at the age of 85. Odie was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Owensboro. He will always be remembered as a "Mr. Fix-It" who enjoyed sitting on his swing smoking his pipes and cigars, when he wasn't fishing with the grandkids.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Martine Crowe Warren; children, Karen F. (Dr. William) Aud, Dr. Stephen R. (Nadine) Warren and Alan T. (Rhonda) Warren; grandchildren, Tony (Julie) and Kris (Michele) Warren, Sasha (Matt) McNeeley, Garrett Warren, Aaron (Leslie), Casey, Stephen and Kara Aud; 13 great grandchildren; sister, Clementine Stone; and several nieces and nephews.
Services will be at noon on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes with Father Brad Whistle presiding. Military honors and burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 to noon on Thursday at the church.
