Oba H. Ray, 80, of Owensboro, passed away August 20, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. He was born in Daviess County to the late McAdoo and Mildred Ray. Oba loved children and taught Sunday School and drove the bus for the kids at Berean Baptist Church. He was a delivery driver for Mills Drug Store in the 60's and then was a construction worker and belonged to the Ironworkers Local Union 103. Oba Enjoyed Race Horses, Westerns and loved attending auctions. He could find anything to amuse himself and also spent time studying history.
Oba was also preceded in death by his son, Christopher Haywood; great grandchildren, Elijah and Preston; brother, Stephen Ray; sisters, Sandy Brown and Elizabeth Clark and step-mother, Margaret Ray
He is survived by daughters, Annah Kathy Parsotan; Rebecca Hamilton (Richard), Amy Bullington (Billy); seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Michael Ray (Donna) and sisters, Judy Hillard and Darlene Johnson.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 24, 2018 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m.
