Norris Edwin Whitaker

Norris E. Whitaker, 74, of 2413 Georgia Lane, Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2004, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Muhlenburg Co., Ky. and retired from the Novelty Distributors Co. after about 50 years. He was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed playing golf and watching University of Kentucky basketball. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Suzanne Whitaker in 1978.

Surviving is his wife of 49 years, Lois G. Whitaker, two sons, Michael S.Whitaker and his wife, Jennifer of Crestwood, Ky. And Robert A. Whitaker of Madisonville, two grandchildren, Jeremy Whitaker of Madisonville, and Hadley Whitaker of Crestwood, and a half-sister, Roberta Mercer of Lawrenceville, Il.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 A.M. Thursday, January 13, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
