Norman Williams

Norman Williams, 84, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2015 while under the care of Hospice of Western KY. He was born December 13, 1930 in Sussex, England to the late Albert Edward and Nellie Riddle Williams. Norman was a Union Millwright and retired as a Supervisor with the Georgia Pacific Co. He also had worked for Alcan in British Columbia, Canada and Alcoa in Washington State. During his lifetime, he also had resided in Toronto, Kittimat, Canada; Ferndale, WA, Haines City, FL, and Kissimmee, FL. He had served in the Royal Army in England and had been a glider pilot. He was discharged in 1949. Norman enjoyed traveling having visited Spain, France, Germany New Zealand, Figi, and Hawaii. He also enjoyed golfing, sailing, scuba diving, and going to Reno and Las Vegas. His favorite shows were all Westerns, especially Gunsmoke, loved playing the stock market, and watching many different sports including football and tennis.

Norman was also preceded in death by his first wife, Liane Williams and a number of siblings, Pearl, Eddie, Rose, Bett, Charlie, Bert, Sid, Joan, Dorothy, and Millie.

Surviving are his wife, Marge Sauter Williams, two sons, Russell (Nicole) Williams of Richland, WA and Gregory (Shannon) Williams of Everett, WA, three grandchildren, Liam, Carly, and Savanna Williams, two brothers, Percy and Bill Williams, and a sister, Irene Wood.

Services will be 12 Noon Thursday, October 15 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
