Norma J. Welch, 49, of Owensboro passed away Monday, October 3, 2011 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born in McLean County on August 1, 1962; she was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Norma was a great cook and enjoyed sitting on her front porch drinking coffee, playing bingo and the lottery, and watching wrestling. She was preceded in death by a son, Scotty Allen Welch; a sister, Sharon Griffith; brothers, James Welch and David Welch; and a step-daughter, Becky Kirk.
Surviving is a son, Steven (Jennifer) Haynes of Owensboro; her mother, Ruby (Herbert) Worth of Owensboro; her father, Robert Welch of Ohio County; grandchildren, Joshua Brown, Emily Haynes, Noah Haynes, and Angel McCarty; her companion since 1986, Robert Deno; her son's father, Danny Haynes of Owensboro; step-daughters, Debbie Whittaker, Marlene Proctor, Peggy Simon all of Owensboro and Janie Roach of Ohio County; special nieces, Lisa (Keith) Taylor and Stephanie (Derrick) Aull of Owensboro; an aunt, Myrtle Embry; and several great nieces and nephews.
Graveside service is 2 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2011 at Utica Cemetery with Brother Tim Roberts officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. till 1:30 p.m. on Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory.
