Norma Jean Bratcher

Norma Jean Bratcher, 78, of Owensboro, Kentucky, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at Owensboro Medical Health Systems. She was born March 17, 1934, in Jasper, IN to the late Walter and Jewel Lewis Collins. She was a member of Owensboro Christian Church where she participated in many activities with the Senior Ministries and was a member of the Widowed Ladies Club. She worked at GE before staying at home to raise her children. Mrs. Bratcher was formally part owner of R.C. Bratcher Welding and Radiator Service, enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and watching them grow, was an avid reader and enjoyed her Tuesday outings with her friend of many years, Jeanie O'Bryan (Gary). She greatly appreciated the care given by Dr. Hofer and his practice over the years. Mrs. Bratcher was also preceded in death by her husband of 37 years, R.C. Bratcher, and her brother, Robert Collins.

Survivors include her children, Gary (Jane) Bratcher, Mark (Debbie) Bratcher, Barry (Stacy) Bratcher, Steve (Susan) Bratcher, and Greg (Meg) Bratcher all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Nick (Natalie) Bratcher, of Fort Branch, IN, Amanda Bratcher of Evansville, IN, Shelly (Justin) Zielke, Brian Thompson all of Lexington, Leah (Matthew) Settles, Kyle Thompson, Logan Bratcher, Zac Bratcher, Caroline Bratcher, Ella Bratcher, Mollie Bratcher, Luke Bratcher and Thomas Wilkey all of Owensboro; and seven great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 6 p.m. on Sunday and after 8:30 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Owensboro Christian Church Senior Ministry.
