Norma Jean Hunton Baird

Norma Jean Hunton Baird, 82, of Owensboro, was called home after a brief battle with cancer on Sunday, August 31, 2014 surrounded by family. She was born on March 29, 1932 in Warren Co., KY to the late Claude C. and Mary Belle Moore Hunton. Norma Jean was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church and had worked at General Electric and was a homemaker. She also was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Goel Chapter #104 at Ensor, was an avid U.K. basketball fan, and had babysitted with many children over the years. She especially loved spending time with her family and friends. She also was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Baird in 2004 and a number of brothers and sisters.

Norma Jean is survived by her daughters, Bobbi Baird (Terry Payne) and Connie Baird (Alan), all of Owensboro, four grandchildren, Amber Christian (Frank Rodriguez) of Miami, FL, and Taylor Baird (Sedrick Mucker), Haylea Baird, and Luke Baird, all of Owensboro, a great granddaughter, Oakleigh Mucker of Owensboro, a brother, Billy (Carolyn Jo) Hunton of Louisville, and numerous loving nieces and nephews.

Services will be 12 Noon Friday, September 5, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Thursday and after 10:00 A.M. Friday at the funeral home.
