Norine Bowen Bartley Westerfield, 85, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at her home. She was born January 2, 1931 in Daviess Co. to the late Rex and Dovie Smith Bowen. Norine had worked as a ward clerk at Owensboro-Daviess Co. Hospital and had been attending Eaton Memorial Baptist Church. She was a volunteer at the Riverpark Center since it opened and had received awards for working the most hours of any volunteer. She was an avid U.K. basketball fan and enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and playing the piano. Norine had made and collected many dolls, especially porcelain ones.
Norine was also preceded in death by her first husband, William Donald Bartley in 1975, her 2nd husband, J. R. Westerfield in 1986, grandchildren, Michelle Crabtree, Felicia Bartley, and Zachary Warren, brothers, Fred Bowen, William Bowen, Norvel Bowen, and sisters, Hazel Moore, Maywood Leachman, Georgia Lee, and Elizabeth Mueller.
Surviving are two sons, Roger Dale Bartley of Texas and Garry Lynn Bartley and wife Lisa of Niagara, two daughters, LaDonna Bartley Stokes of Owensboro and Judy Bartley Howard and husband Michael of Nashville, TN, seven grandchildren, Robby Westerwal and wife Samantha, Zack Bartley, Donald Allen Bartley, Gavin Howard, Mellony Anderson and husband Steven, Donald Warren and wife Jacoba, and Roger Bartley, Jr., nine great grandchildren, Sarah Warren, Logan Abrams, Ashlyn Crabtree, Bentley Westerwal, Emma and Evan Anderson, Sawyer Howard, Sheralyn Bartley, and Megan Warren, a step great grandchild, Brooklyn Lee, two step great great grandchildren, Maddilynn and Gavin Rhoades, a sister, Nancy Jane Kelley of Atlanta, GA, a brother, Rex Bowen, Jr. and wife Tillie of Sun City, AZ, 2 sisters-in-law, Eva Bowen and Louise Bowen, and numerous nieces and nephews including a special niece, Barbara Leachman who was near and dear.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, May 9, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 8:30 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
