Norah Jane Rutland, 74, of Owensboro, died Saturday, September 11, 2010, at Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born January 1, 1936 to the late J.D. and Kathryn Franklin Anderson in McLean County. She graduated from Murray State College and was a teacher for over 30 years in Georgia and Florida. She was a member of the Joppa Baptist Church in Florida, was a Kentucky Colonel, and enjoyed playing cards, especially bridge.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Edward Rutland in October, 2005, and a brother, James Anderson.
Survivors include her children; a son, Lee Rutland, and his wife, Eden of Owensboro, her daughter, Dodie Ann Schroeder and her husband, Steven of Owensboro; three grandchildren, Zeke, Samuel and Anna Rutland.
Services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, with entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 9:00 AM until 10:00 AM Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Hermitage Care and Rehabilitation Center, 1614 Parrish Avenue, Owensboro, KY 42301.
