Nora Ellen Ward Duke

Nora Ellen Ward Duke, 91, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, April 17, 2007 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born July 16, 1915 to the late Cyrus and Lula Wimsatt Ward in Whitesville. She had worked at Fabric World and was a member of Bells Run Baptist Church. She enjoyed gardening, quilting and raising a flower garden. The love of her life was being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Audie D. Duke on April 6, 1997 and a daughter, Nelda Duke on July 21, 1995.

Survivors include her daughters, Peggy Carlock and her husband, William of Owensboro, Betty Midkiff of Utica and a son, Wendell Duke and his wife, Linda of Owensboro; eight grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Services will be 11:30 AM Friday at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday and after 10:00 AM Friday at the funeral home. Services will be conducted by Rev. Larry Brown and the pallbearers are, Wes and Jeremy Midkiff, Jordan and Chase Carlock and Tyler Free.
