Nona Ruthell Hawkins

Nona Ruthell "Ruth" Hawkins, 92, of Owensboro, Kentucky passed away on Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Owensboro Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Christian County, Kentucky to the late Milard and Myrtle Wilson.

Ruth retired from Mullen and Haynes. She was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church and a Kentucky Colonel.

Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Eldon R. Hawkins in 1982; sisters, Vivian Henderson and Buna Grace; and a brother, Adrian Wilson.

She is survived by her children, Doris Mitchell (Bill) of San Antonio, TX, Penny Payne and Linda Bostwick, both of Bowling Green, KY; seven grandchildren, Heather Michaels Moore, Kevin Payne, Kimberly Payne Flora, Kendra Payne, Amber Bostwick Hale, Robert Bostwick and Lindsey Bostwick; and seven great grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, November 23 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Rev. Tom Eblen and Rev. Karla Fullwood will officiate. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 PM and on Saturday after 9 AM at the funeral home.
