Noah E. "Red" Taylor, 69, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born on May 5, 1942 in Muhlenburg Co., KY to the late Noah and Hallie Finn Taylor. He had worked in Maintenance with the former Aluminum Services Co. and Barmet Aluminum at Livia and was a member of the Bethel Pentecostal Church in Livermore. Red was a U. S. Army veteran and served in the Cuban Crisis. He had been a member of the American Legion and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing cards, and watching U.K. basketball.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Linda Poole Taylor, three daughters, Melissa (Eddie) Hosmer , Kara (Matt) Parker, and Sarah (Jeff) Ray, all of Owensboro, a son, Charles "Chuck" (Naranda Johnson) Taylor of Owensboro, 10 grandchildren, Zachary Foster, Levi Taylor, Mariah Taylor, Morgan Johnson, Ceira Taylor, Dustin Hosmer, Serenity Parker, Gabriella Parker, Atlanta Ray, and Remington Ray, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Services will be 2:00 P.M. Thursday, October 6, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Wednesday and after 10:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home.
