Nina Howard Mckinley

December 28, 1904 — October 31, 2001

Nina Howard McKinley, 96, of 2701 Frederica Street, Owensboro, KY died Wednesday, October 31, at Owensboro Mercy Health System. The Harlan, KY native was a member of Trinity Episcopal Church, a graduate of the University of Kentucky, a former school teacher and florist owner in Harlan, and was a member of the Daughters of the American Revoloution. Her husband, John Henry McKinley died in 1990.

Survivors include a son, RADM John Henry McKinley, Jr., USNR (Ret) of Kingsport, TN, two daughters; Mary Lovett of Owensboro and Nancy East of Marietta, GA, two brothers; Dr. Smith Howard of Harlan, KY and Dr. Turner Howard of Knoxville, TN, 8 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchihldren.

Services are 3 p.m. Friday at Trinity Episcopal Church. Visitation is from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday at Glenn Funeral Home. A graveside service and burial will be 1 p.m. Sunday at Riverside Cemetery in Demopolis, Alabama. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to Trinity Episcopal Church, 720 Ford Avenue, Owensboro, KY 42301 or Friends of Gaineswood, Gaineswood Mansion, Demopolis, AL 36732.
